Question: How does Apostoli Viae provide formation for its members?
Answer: There are a number of direct and indirect paths of formation in Apostoli Viae. All of our formation has two purposes 1) to draw the Apostoli Viae member ever more deeply into relationship with God, and 2) to equip them to do the same for others. Here are a few key paths of formation:
Community Cenacle Gatherings (online and in person): In these bi-weekly meetings we seek to encounter Christ together in and through the wisdom of the saints and the teachings of the Church. As we gather we share mutually in our exploration of the life-changing traditions of the Church.
Community Encounter Meetings (in person): In well established areas, bi-weekly studies of the Gospels through group lectio divina provide a way for men and women to get to know Christ and one another as they explore the readings for the upcoming Sunday Mass.
Formation Courses Taken in Community (online): We provide online courses that can be taken in community and discussed with other Apostoli Viae members either locally or in the online groups taking the courses.
Group Spiritual Direction (online and in person) : Group spiritual direction and formation meetings are provided bi-weekly to those who have entered into a deeper association with Apostoli Viae.
Pilgrimages and Retreats: We will regularly encourage members to participate in local, national, or international retreats and pilgrimages. At present we will have an annual pilgrimage and gathering at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville Alabama. As well, we will work hard to provide other pilgrimage offerings at least once every year.
Apostolic Engagement: Working in through or with Apostoli Viae apostolates provides members with the opportunity to learn, teach and serve others with specific formation goals in mind.
These aren't all the ways but as you can see we are serious about helping God's people to heaven and to building the Kingdom of God in and through the Catholic Church.
